LCES Families, This week at LCES, students are becoming more settled and it’s refreshing to see relationships grow. In our K-2 classrooms, curriculum has begun for literacy and students are beginning to learn about fables, nursery rhymes, and fairytales. We are also beginning to implement our new math curriculum, Bridges. Ask your student about their new learnings each day! For our PK classrooms, it’s been fun to see students and teachers implementing routines, songs, and our schoolwide PK expectations: We are safe, We are kind, We are responsible. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Sincerely, Brandi Lovely, Principal blovely@lakecountyschools.net
Tips of the Week | |
Getting enough sleep is vital to a student’s success in school and wellbeing. See the chart below for helpful bedtimes to ensure your student has a positive day.
K-2 Specifics | |
AM Drop Off: The drop off lane will open at 7:30 and the front doors will also open at 7:30 for kindergarten through second grade students. Students will be asked to stay in the cafeteria until 7:40. Beginning at 7:40, students will walk down to their classroom and be greeted by their teacher. Breakfast is in the classrooms this year, instead of the cafeteria. If you would like your child to eat breakfast, please make sure they arrive by 7:45 in order to have enough time to eat breakfast before crew begins at 8:00. Parents are welcome to drop off students at their cubby in the pod. Please respect the teacher’s time and know their main responsibility is to supervise the classroom. Should you need to speak with a teacher, please contact your child’s teacher or the front office to schedule a conference. The drop off lane and front doors close at 8:00am. This means tardy time is 8:00. If your child arrives after 8:00, they must check in with the front office and receive a tardy slip to give to their teacher. PM Pick Up: Pick up begins around 3:20 at both the back car lane and the front doors. Thank you for your patience these first couple of weeks as we have lots of students who are getting picked up. If you are picking up in the car lane, please have your CarRiderPro tag hanging up on your rearview mirror. This tag ensures we get your child out to you promptly. If you do not have a tag, please stop by the front office. Yellow Thursday Folder: Each student has a yellow folder for home and school communication. Each Thursday your student should be bringing home their yellow folder. Review the notes inside and then send back the folder each week. Thank you!
Preschool Specifics | |
Hello Center Families, We had another smooth week at preschool with lots of smiles occurring in classrooms! Our classroom teachers continue to focus on routines, procedures, expectations, and getting our preschoolers comfortable with classroom structures. Each classroom has a whiteboard in the window that notes a main activity for the day. Be sure to check this out, it might mention a book focus, a craft, or a specific skill like making friends. This is a good resource for families! Our front doors are back in action! The main front door should be unlocked and accessible. Please ring the doorbell for entry. For main preschool hours, our doors open at 9:00. Please remember to return all necessary paperwork from orientations. This includes:Family Engagement Surveys (pink paper)DECA Social Emotional ScreenerAges and Stages Developmental ScreenerHealth Histories and Nutrition SurveysAll required health documents: physicals, dental exams, and blood lead You can give these to your child’s teacher or return them in their yellow folders. Looking forward, we will be closed on September 2nd for Labor Day. Enjoy your weekend, we will see you next week! Warmest regards,Tanya Lenhard –PreK Directortdlendhard@lakecountyschools.net
