LCES Patent Update 2/4/2022
LCES Families,
Thank you all for a great week at LCES. We had a great week of learning and enjoyed our indoor recess days due to the cold weather. Thanks for continuing to send your students with outdoor gear on a daily basis. If the temperature is above 10, we go outside.
Valentines Day Plans
Our Valentine’s Day celebration will consist of a Valentine-themed “Panther Day” during Specials in the morning. Students may also share Valentines with their classmates during a designated time within their classroom. If you would like to send cards, please have your child write their own name in the “from” part, and leave the “to” line blank. Cards need to be pre-written. For confidentiality reasons, we are not able to send out a class list. The number of students in the class is written below. In accordance with the Healthy Schools initiative, please do not send candy, food, or edible treats.
There is no expectation that students bring Valentine cards – it is an option for your family. We will have a nice time appreciating one another’s friendship regardless. Kids love non-food items. If you wish to send something with your Valentines, here are some ideas: bubbles, stickers, tattoos, erasers, pencils, bouncy balls, silly straws, etc. Please make sure these are individually wrapped for the number of students listed below.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher. Thank you for your partnership!
Sincerely,
The Lake County Elementary School Staff
Family Learning Night:
Thank you to those of you who attended Early Literacy Night this week! We hope you join Project Dream on Tuesday, February 8th for our next Family Learning Institute – Family ELA Night! This evening will focus specifically on literacy practices for K-6 students.
There will be a presenter from both LCES and LCIS discussing the literacy standards we cover, how we teach literacy, and how you can support your student at home. This event will be interactive for both you and your student. It will be held in the cafeteria of LCES from 5:30-7:00pm.
Dinner and childcare will be provided!
Mobile Learning Center
The Mobile Learning Center is an initiative geared toward providing high-quality learning opportunities for students of all ages. It is a learning environment housed in a repurposed LCSD bus that will bring school and community resources directly to students and parents. The bus is refurbished to provide free internet, a small library, academic support, tutoring, technical assistance, and community resources. Please email the MLC Coordinator or your LCES Mobile Learning Success Committee representatives if you have any questions!

Please remember that drop off time in the morning starts at 7:40. Please do not drop students off earlier than this time. Thanks so much for your support with this.
Do you have a day or two each week that you would like to work in our schools? We are hiring substitute teachers. This is a great opportunity to get involved in our school community and make a few extra dollars. Please reach out to Bunny Taylor for more information.
