LCES Parent Update 2/18/2022
LCES Families,
It’s been a great week at LCES and we have so much coming up to look forward to. Please be sure to check your students Thursday folder that was sent home yesterday. In that folder, there is a sheet for you to fill out and send back to school if you want your student to continue wearing a mask while at school. This will help us honor your choice as parents with the change to our mask policy.
Please remember we do not have school on Monday, February 21st in honor of President’s Day. We DO have school on Friday, February 25th.
Dr. Seuss Literacy Week!:
You will also find a special reading log to help students gear up for Literacy Week! Please encourage your child to read every day or read with them every day for 20 minutes or more and fill out the log. Please return the log on March 3rd for your child to receive a special prize from The Cat in the Hat.
We will be celebrating literacy week with some fun activities. February 28th-March 3rd we will have dress up days, free book drawings, activities in specials, and I heard that the Cat in the Hat will be joining us one day too! We are excited to share the joy of reading with our students.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Dear Parents and Guardians of Lake County Elementary School K-2 Students,
Our parent-teacher conference time is drawing near and we are making plans for this event. This year our conferences will be held on Wednesday, March 2 and Thursday, March 3, from 12:00-8:00pm. On these days, students will attend school until 11:00am. We will dismiss at 11:00 am when buses will run their regular route and parents can pick up their children. Each appointment will be 30 minutes long. We will honor our health precaution of requiring everyone to wear a mask inside the building.
We will be using the same on-line appointment system as we did in August and October for our conferences. This allows parents to pick a time that is best for their busy schedules and request interpretation, if needed. We encourage you to schedule your children’s appointments back-to-back if you wish.
Please follow the link below and pick the best date and time for you to meet with your child’s teacher. You will receive a confirmation email – if you do not receive the confirmation email, please check that you have completed all of the steps in setting up your appointment.

It is fundamental that we get to meet with every student’s parents to talk about our important partnership in your child’s education! Please make this appointment by Friday, February 25, so that our teachers can prepare for your conference.
We very much appreciate you attending conferences and arriving at your appointment on time. We have so much to share during our 30 minute appointments! It is a time in which we can talk about the social, emotional, and academic growth of your child and our strong partnership sets him or her up for the success they deserve!
If you cannot make one of these conference times, please reach out to your classroom teacher directly to make an alternative appointment.
