LCES Weekly Update 9/9/22
LCES Families,
Thanks for an awesome week at LCES. Our first graders had a great time on their Cornerstone day this week and students did an amazing job with their first beginning of the year testing for Acadiance Reading. Our specials team also hosted a fun-filled Panther day outside during the morning specials time on Friday. It’s been a busy, but fun week!
Cornerstone Days!
We have our Kindergarten Cornerstone day at the Lake County Fish Hatchery on Tuesday, September 13th! This will be a full day event for our kindergarten students and we are super excited
Acadiance Reading Testing:
Thanks so much for having your students in school this week for our Acadiance Reading Testing. If students were absent, we will be doing make-up testing next Monday and Tuesday.

Homecoming Week
HOWLs Update:
LCES is using HOWLs dollars to award good behavior. These dollars are awarded for any of our Habits of Work and Learning (HOWLs): Collaboration, Respect, Responsibility, Craftsmanship, Compassion, Perseverance, Curiosity, and Creativity. Last week the Kindergarteners got to shop at the store school to purchase items using their HOWLs dollars. Next week, it will be the 1st graders’ turn. Encourage students to continue to show outstanding HOWL behavior.
September Attendance Challenge!
For the month of September we will be having our September attendance challenge. Our district attendance goal is 92%. The class with the best attendance for each grade level will receive an extra recess with Mrs. Lovely and Mr. Lenhard. Please try to send your student to school every day, unless they are too sick. We appreciate your help in reaching our 92% attendance goal!
