News From LCHS 6/11/23
Dear LCHS Families,
After celebrating our incredible young adults at graduation we have had a great week with students as they have engaged in both learning activities and activities throughout our community. Our students have represented themselves well and we are proud of their efforts.
Next week, we will continue with these activities on Monday and Tuesday. Finals will be held on Wednesday and Thursday. 9-12 students will be released at 12PM on Wednesday and Thursday. 7th and 8th grade will remain in the building. Students are required to attend the final class period to do their finals. If you need help with extenuating circumstances in regards to finals, please reach out to the front office and we will be in touch with you. If students need to stay or have bus transportation home we will have supervision on Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure that your students are rested and ready for these finals. Here are the schedules for both days.

We also look forward to celebrating our 8th graders on Wednesday for their 8th Grade Celebration which will be held next Wednesday (6/14) in the auditorium at 6:30PM. Students should arrive by 6:15PM. There has been a request to have a slide show at this time. Please send one or two baby pictures to fvillarreal@lakecountyschools.net by Monday (6/12) at 12:00PM. High School/ 7&8 Yearbook
There was overwhelming support for the High School yearbook this year. So much that we have completely run out. However our yearbook printer has given us a link to allow our families to purchase a book and have it directly shipped to your house!
https://link.entourageyearbooks.com/my/LCHS23
Our 7th and 8th grade students still have an opportunity to pick up a copy of their yearbook at the front office!
Thank you for all your support this year,

District Accountability Committee
The Lake County School Board is seeking individuals interested in serving on an advisory committee. The District Accountability Committee (DAC) is a state required committee created by each local school board with the purpose of providing recommendations and advisement to the school board on topics set by state statute as well as by the local board. The committee is required to meet at least quarterly as a committee and at least annually with the school board, although the committee can choose to meet more often. We are looking forward to kicking this group off for the 2023-24 school year using a format that includes opportunities for meeting around the state required topics as well as areas of local study toward actionable recommendations and conversations with the Board of Education. We are requesting that interested individuals complete the following application that will be reviewed by the Board of Education.

At the June 26th meeting, we are scheduled for the board to select leadership and membership of the DAC. After this meeting, the selected leadership team will have an initial planning meeting in August to create and roll out the 2023-24 schedule and plan for the DAC. Thank you again for your interest and willingness to serve on this important committee.
Thank you for your interest in serving
