Lake County School District Announces its Superintendent Selection

The Lake County School District is pleased to announce that a contract for
Superintendent of Lake County Schools has been offered to Kate Bartlett.

Kate Bartlett is currently working with the Colorado School Finance Project. She has
worked at the Colorado Department of Education as the Turnaround Program Manager
and Executive Director of School District Operations and the Lake County School
District as the Chief Financial Officer.

There were eighteen applicants for the position. The board interviewed two finalists for
the position on May 10, 2024. Kate Bartlett will assume the duties of Superintendent of
Schools beginning June 16, 2024. Kate stated, “I am honored and humbled by the
Board’s invitation to serve Lake County as the school district’s next Superintendent. I
look forward to working with all of our stakeholders to create the best environment we
can to drive student learning and create amazing outcomes for kids.”

McPherson & Jacobson L.L.C. served as consultants in the search process and will
continue working with the Lake County School District Board of Education and the new
superintendent in helping establish performance objectives for Kate Bartlett.
