News From LCHS 6/16/23
Dear LCHS Families,
We did it! Congratulations on our 2022 – 2023 school year! We have enjoyed seeing your students grow and develop over the course of the year. They have a lot to be proud of.
We will be in touch this summer with information about next year but for now please enjoy this well-deserved break.
Wishing everyone a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing you in August.
Our front office will be open until June 22 and will not be back until July 24th.
Please take a moment to look at the School Calendar for 2023-2024!
All the best,
Scott Carroll

High School/ 7&8 Yearbook
There was overwhelming support for the High School yearbook this year. So much that we have completely run out. However our yearbook printer has given us a link to allow our families to purchase a book and have it directly shipped to your house!
https://link.entourageyearbooks.com/my/LCHS23
Our 7th and 8th grade students still have an opportunity to pick up a copy of their yearbook at the front office!
Thank you for all your support this year,
LCHS & 7/8 Yearbook
Athletics:
Happy Summer Break!! Summertime does NOT mean a break from athletic activities!! In fact, we have a lot of opportunities for athletes to stay fit and improve skills in the next 2 months. A couple highlights:
- The LCHS weight room will be open on Mondays and Fridays from 8-9 am and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6 pm. Athletes from all sports and levels are encouraged to find 2 times a week to workout. We also have strength plans that can be done at home, so if the times don’t work out or your family is traveling, athletes can still be developing strength.
- LCHS’ basketball programs are hosting a professionally-run basketball camp July 10-12 in the LCHS gym. There will be sessions for 2-5th graders, 6-8th graders and high school athletes. See the attached flier for more details. The early bird discount ends on June 16, so get registered ASAP!! If you pay through Venmo, you may need the following code: 5957.
The schedules for all athletic events this summer and into the fall are on our new online calendar: https://chsaa.rschooltoday.com/public/genie/1518/school/445/date/2023-06-13/view/week/
You can also access this calendar from www.lakecountyschools.net. Click on the Athletics tab and Athletic Schedules. The link will take you to this week’s schedule. If you click on “Month” at the top of the page, you can view the whole month at once.
If you only want to see the schedule for a certain sport/activity, click on “View Schedules” on the right pane. Click on the boxes next to the activity/sport(s) you want to see, and then click “View” below the options. In the upper right hand corner of the report, there are buttons to “print,” “email,” or “subscribe” to this calendar. By subscribing, you can get the activity calendar dropped into your Outlook Calendar, Google Calendar or iCal device. Any changes made to the calendar will automatically update in your calendar.
If you would like to receive text or email notifications whenever there is a change to your sport/activity, click on “Notify Me” on the right pane of the calendar home page. You will be prompted to create an account and select the sports/activities that you wish to receive notifications for.
High school students who fail 2 or more classes this semester will not be eligible for competition in a fall or winter sport unless they regain some of their credits through Project Dream’s credit recovery program this summer. To get enrolled in credit recovery, please contact Lana Butler at 719-293-0107. If an athlete doesn’t make up enough credits during the summer, they will not be able to compete until the CHSAA regain dates: September 4 for cross country athletes and September 11 for volleyball, soccer and football athletes. Those athletes must be passing ALL their classes on those dates, or they will lose eligibility for the rest of the season. Bottom line- PLEASE encourage your student to take advantage of the credit recovery option this summer, so that they will be ready and able to jump into sports next year!
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
LET’S GO PANTHERS!!
