LCHS Principal and Assistant Principal announcement
Dear LCHS parents and community,
I hope this finds you enjoying this wonderful Leadville summer. While it is hard to believe, the new school year is approaching quickly. We are looking forward to the new school year and are excited to officially announce Scott Carroll as our Lake County High School Principal. We appreciate that Mr. Carroll stepped into the interim principal role at the conclusion of the school year and we believe his passion for inspiring our students, his love of Leadville, and his leadership abilities will be a huge asset in moving LCHS forward. LCHS will be hosting a meet the administrator opportunity at our August 7th back to school orientation. Please stop by to introduce yourself if you do not already know Mr. Carroll, or to share a word of encouragement with him if you do know him.
At the end of the school year, Mr. Carroll jumped right into the role of Principal by hosting interviews for our Assistant Principal positions. Our two assistant principal vacancies have been filled by Mrs. Lindsey Cade and Ms. Maggie Kane.
Mrs. Lindsey Cade, our junior high math teacher, has been offered and accepted the position of assistant principal. Mrs. Cade has been in our district since 2016. She is a talented individual who has shown great leadership through activities such as participation on the district math program review team, building leadership teams, and many other leadership opportunities. She is excited to take this next step in her career and we are grateful for her willingness to step into leadership at LCHS.
Ms. Maggie Kane is a former Lake County School District academic dean who served at our high school until 2016 when she moved to Denver to work as a high school science teacher at the Rocky Mountain School of Expeditionary Learning. With 25 years of science instruction background and having held teaching positions ranging from 6th grade through the college level, she brings vast instructional expertise to support our school.
We invite you to meet and congratulate Mrs. Cade and Ms. Kane on August 7th during the back to school orientation during the administrator meet and greet time. We are looking forward to seeing you all in a few weeks when we kick off the return to school. In the meantime, please keep an eye out for your back to school packets and any school specific information regarding the events that may be provided by LCHS.
Sincerely,
Bethany Massey
Superintendent
