Vandalism at LCHS
Dear LCHS Parents & Guardians,
In the last couple of weeks, we have experienced an increase in vandalism in our restrooms. Students have taken soap dispensers, destroyed toilet paper holders, and clogged toilets. This behavior is not typical of our students, and therefore, quite surprising. However, students and families have made us aware of a recent TikTok challenge daring students nationwide to participate in acts of vandalism at their school. We believe that a handful of students are participating in this challenge.
We are asking that you talk to your children about this trend on social media and encourage them to refrain from any involvement, as well as report any information they might have about acts of vandalism at our school to a trusted adult or to safe2tell.org (1-877-542-7233). It’s important to us that we keep our learning environment safe and free from distractions. We also want to honor and respect our amazing facilities staff who work tirelessly to keep our building clean and in excellent condition.
We ask that you talk to your child about the impact of theft and vandalism. It is unacceptable behavior and individuals who are responsible will face consequences, including but not limited to suspension, referral to law enforcement, and expulsion.
Thank-you for your help and partnership. It takes a village!
Best,
Erin Dillon
