LCIS FASO 12/3/21
Hello LCIS Families!
It’s wild to think that we are already in the month of December and that we are rapidly approaching the end of our first semester of school. It has been fantastic to be back in school full time this year and we want to thank you for all that you are doing to help keep your child, and our community, healthy and safe.
In our last two weeks of this semester, we have some exciting events coming up, including participating in The Hour of Code, assessing our academic growth on our mid-year assessments, and celebrating the arts at our winter concert series. Read below to learn more!
LCIS is excited to join “The Hour of Code” event that will take place the week of 12/6. “Hour of Code” is an international event designed to show students and other participants that anyone can learn the basics of computer science. It is an effort to celebrate computer science and engage communities in coding. All communities participating in the event will spend at least one hour on coding activities. LCIS is excited to provide the opportunity for all of our students to learn some coding, discuss growth mindset, and foster a technological outlet for creativity!
Students will be taking the STAR middle of the year assessment beginning Monday, December 6th The week of Dec. 13th, students will be taking the NWEA assessments for ELA and Math. Students will need their chromebooks for both assessments. Please help your child be prepared for school by bingring their chromebook charged and ready to go every day.
