LCIS FASO 6/18/21
Happy Summer LCIS Families!
It’s amazing to think that we have made it to the end of this very unique school year. We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for all of their hard work each and every day.
While our students made good growth in reading and math this year, we’d like to strongly encourage you to insist that your child reads every day this summer and continues to work on solving math problems. Especially important is keeping fluent with those basic math facts, multiplying, dividing, adding and subtracting. IXL will continue to be available to your child through their Clever account and another fabulous free math resource is Khan Academy. It’s easy to create an account and have your child practice the math skills from their grade level. A little bit every day, mixed with lots of play, will help your child feel confident and ready for school this fall.
A huge congratulations to our 6th grade students who will be moving up to junior high school next year. These students shared their portfolios on Thursday and highlighted how they met their goals and reflected on areas where they will continue to improve. Please take some time to look at your child’s portfolio with them and celebrate their accomplishments.
Deputy Chief Steve Boyle and the Leadville / Lake County Fire Rescue came to the school last Tuesday to give a “Pillowcase Program” presentation to our 3rd graders. They learned about fire safety in the home and got to take home some really great mementos. Thank you LLCFR!
