Fire Drill Fun
On Monday, preschoolers at The Center will be having their first fire drill of the school year. We have one every month to practice for emergencies and to fulfill our licensing requirements.
Teachers will talk to kids ahead of time about what is going to happen to help prepare them as much as possible. You may want to mention a few things at home, too.
When the alarm goes off to start the drill, it is very loud. Make sure your kids know not to worry, that this is only practice. All the kids have to do is line up on their spots near the classroom door, use their good listening ears, and follow their teachers’ instructions to exit the building.
Once we are all outside, it only takes a few minutes for the fire department to give us the “All Clear” to go back inside.
Fire Drill days are fun and exciting, and we might just get to see the fire truck.
