Cloud City High School Family Newsletter
It was so wonderful to see so many of you at Parent-Teacher Conferences last week! We truly appreciate your time and commitment to supporting your students’ success.
This past Wednesday, our students participated in a fantastic Workforce Boot Camp experience. They traveled to Alamosa to tour Trinidad State Community College and explore the many programs and career pathways available. During the visit, students also had the special opportunity to meet and hear from a Lake County graduate who shared insights about his own educational journey and career experiences.

We would also like to extend a big congratulations to our Students of the Month:
August: Marisela Duran Quezada
September: Tyler Meyer
We are so proud of your hard work, leadership, and dedication!
Next week, on Tuesday, October 28th, students will have the chance to participate in the Lion’s Club and LCHS Career Fair. This will be an exciting opportunity for them to explore potential career paths and engage in meaningful conversations with professionals from our local community.
Phone Line Update
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as our school phone lines continue to be down. If you need to reach us, please call or text the school cell phone at (719) 293-5904, or contact Mrs. Kerrigan directly on her cell phone. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your flexibility as we work to get everything back up and running soon!
** Thank you, families, for your ongoing support and encouragement of our students. We wish everyone a wonderful and safe weekend! **
Stay Connected
As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to stop by and say hello, we would love to see and hear from you.

Healthy Kids Colorado Survey
This fall our students will take the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey (HKCS), an important survey about student health. The survey asks students about health topics including unintentional injuries and violence; mental health; school safety; substance use; physical activity and nutrition; sexual behavior (optional); and risk and protective factors. The survey process protects your student’s privacy, and no information is collected that can identify an individual student. Only your child will know how they answer.
The survey results will help your school, community groups, and state health agencies to plan programs and services for youth. Students receive the survey during class time and are instructed to answer the questions or skip any question they don’t understand or don’t feel comfortable answering.
If you prefer that your student does not take the survey, please complete the attached opt-out form and return to the school’s front office by Tuesday, October 28th. Opt-out forms will also be available in the school’s front office to sign.
