CCHS News and Announcements 4.17.25
Dear Cloud City Families,
State Testing Update
A big thank you to all of our students who showed up on time this week and gave their best effort during state testing! We appreciate your focus and hard work in demonstrating what you know and are capable of achieving.
We only have a small number of make-up tests left, which will take place on Monday, April 21st.
Scholarship Night Success
It was wonderful to see so many students and families attend Scholarship Night! Every graduating student received a Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Foundation Scholarship for $2,000. This scholarship can be used at colleges, trade schools, or for certifications—anywhere students are furthering their educational careers.
A huge thank you to the Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Foundation for your incredible support of our youth and their future career aspirations.
In total, the Lake County School District Class of 2025 has been awarded over $1 million dollars in scholarships. Well done, Lake County students — we are so proud of you!
Graduation Check #2 – Thursday, April 24th
Our second graduation check is coming up on Thursday, April 24th. Parents and guardians, you can expect communication from your student’s Crew teacher with an update on whether they’re on track for graduation. Please keep an eye out and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions.
Academic Time is Limited – Let’s Make It Count! As we near the end of the school year, the number of full academic days is shrinking. Students, please make the most of this time by:
- Wrapping up any loose ends with your portfolio
- Attending all assigned classes on time, every day
- Staying focused and asking for help if you need it
Let’s finish strong!
Warm regards,
Katherine Kerrigan

From the School Nurse: Colleen Nielsen, RN
Colorado has had its first reported Measles case this week. Measles is more than just a rash. It is a serious respiratory illness that can cause lifelong problems like hearing loss, brain damage, and even death. Measles is preventable with a vaccine. Please reach out to your provider to check on your student’s vaccination status. If measles was to be found in our student population, your student will be excluded if not fully vaccinated. If you have questions, please email me at cnielsen@lakecountyschools.net
