LCES Families, The first week of school is complete and what a wonderful four days our students had at LCES! We concluded the week with a community meeting to recognize the 8 HOWLs we will be focusing on this year at LCES. Second grade students were great role models to our younger students and the Hawaiian Leis for Dollar Day were a huge hit! Students worked incredibly hard to get back into routine this week and the curriculum has already begun in our first and second grade classrooms. Kudos to these teachers and students for getting off the ground running! Some questions to ask your student at the dinner table after school each day may be: What made you smile today? What is something you learned today? What is something you’re worried about? What are you looking forward to tomorrow? We hope you and your family are able to enjoy the weekend and rest, after a busy first week of school! Thank you for your partnership as we look forward to an awesome rest of the school year. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with questions, suggestions, or celebrations. Go Panthers! Brandi Lovely, PK-2 Principal blovely@lakecountyschools.net |

K-2 Specifics |
PowerHub: This year we have transitioned all communication, grades, and payments to our online student information system, PowerSchool. Please do not make any payments with EFunds, our previous system. If you need assistance using the PowerSchool app, please call our front office at 719-486-6890 or email Ms. Zee (zalmeida@lakecountyschools.net). We are here to help and support this process. Morning Drop Off: Drop off begins in the lane around the building, and doors open at 7:30am. Students arriving between 7:30 and 7:39, will be asked to wait in the cafeteria. At 7:40, Mrs. Ayers will dismiss students to their classrooms. Breakfast will be eaten in the classrooms and parents are welcome to walk their student down to their classroom in the morning. Our school day begins at 8:00 and after this time you will not be allowed to walk students into the building to their classroom. 8:00 is considered tardy time and students will receive a “tardy” mark. Breakfast and lunch are free to all students. If you prefer your student eats a home lunch, please note we do not have microwaves or cooling systems for your student’s lunch. Please pack their food accordingly. At 3:15, we will begin our dismissal process. Thank you for your patience the first few weeks of school as this tends to take a little longer due to the large amount of students being picked up. You are welcome to walk up to the front doors or use the pick up lane that wraps around the West/North side of the building. If you are using the pick up lane and do not have a CarRiderPro tag, please stop in the front office to get that tag to ensure a smooth pick up process. Quick note about safety- please use SLOW speeds in our parking lots, especially during drop off and pick up times. |

The Center Specifics |
Hi Center Families, Wow, the first of the 2025-2026 school year is officially in the books! Our program has been great to walk the halls and hear the little voices, see the smiles from kids, staff, and families, and observe the classroom activities through the windows. Thank you for sharing your littles with our program. We are excited for the adventure ahead! Please remember to return the DECA and ASQ Developmental screeners to your child’s teacher as soon as possible. You received these either at August orientation last week or in your child’s yellow folders today. We look forward to week 2! See you Monday!
