Hello Families,
We are excited to invite families to our annual Thanksgiving lunch on Tuesday, November 14th. The times for each grade level or preschool classroom are listed below in the fliers section. If you will be attending, please go through the main doors of the school to check in and pay.
Thank you all for another wonderful week. We have one week until fall break and then the busy holiday season. Please remember that fall break is Monday, November 20-24th. We hope everyone has a great break!
Please join us on November 28th from either 9-10am or 6-7pm for our monthly coffee chat with the principal. This month, we would like to hear from families on communication and how we can better support families with communication. Thanks for joining us for this conversation.
Please reach out at any time if you have questions, concerns, or celebrations you would like to share.
Thanks,
Katie Pongrekun
Principal, LCES

Staff of the Week Highlight!
Each week this year in family communication, we will be highlighting a staff member in the building. If you want, please feel free to send emails, handwritten notes, or letters of encouragement to that staff member.
Jessica Loveless- Special Education Paraprofessional
Mrs. Loveless grew up in Bloomfield, Missouri. She has 10 years in the mental health field, CMA/CMT, and she is currently pursuing her BAS in Psychology. One interesting fact about Jessica is that she and her husband were born in the same state and same hospital exactly 6 months apart. She is inspired by her own kids and the kids she gets to work with daily here at school. He lives her life by the quote, “I can do hard things.” She enjoys spending time with her friends, family, bible journaling, and coloring. Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Loveless.
Send Mrs. Loveless an encouraging note at jloveless@lakecountyschools.net

K-2 Specifics
- Please remember to have your child to the building by 7:45 if you would like them to have breakfast in the morning. Thanks so much for helping with this.
- Looking for donations of size 6-8 pants/sweatpants for students who may need a change of clothes during the day.
- Please remember to send your child ready to go outside on a daily basis in the snow. Also, it is very helpful and important to have your child’s name on their snow clothes, gloves, hat, boots, etc. so that if they are misplaced or put in the lost and found we are able to get it back to them.
Preschool Specifics
Curriculum:
- Preschool Room – We are done with domain 2: Families and Communities and domain 3: Animals will start after Thanksgiving Break. Before moving forward to domain 3, children will have an opportunity to learn about important people in American history such as the Native Americans and Pilgrims.
- 2 ½ Years Old Room – Children will continue learning the routines and expectations in the classroom as well as potty training. As they are transitioning with Creative Curriculum Infant and Toddler Curriculum.
- We are taking a little pause with Second Step till January 18, 2023. During this lesson pause, we will be learning more about the Pyramid Model and the different components of it to best support children on managing emotions, problem solving, and making friends.
Reminders:
- With current staffing issues, there is a chance that your child’s class will be split into other rooms and closed on any given day. This may occur after your child has already been dropped off.
- Reminder school doors open at 9:00 am each day, we ask that you wait until you schedule hours listed on your signed tuition agreement. Any time that is outside these hours are billable to you.
- Be sure to put your student’s yellow folder in their backpack to return on Monday so that we can fill them back up with important information. Thanks for helping with this.
