LCIS Friday Afternoon Shout Out 3-22-24
Dear LCIS Families:
Thank you so much for coming to the school to meet with our teachers and staff during Parent Teacher Conferences. We’re always so excited to share the wonderful things your children have accomplished and the trajectory that we have planned for their learning for the rest of the school year. We appreciate your insight and partnership in making this year a great success from beginning to end!
Please come to our March Community Meeting next week! Our 4th graders will lead the assembly on Wednesday, March 27th at 8:05 am in the LCIS Gym. They will share with us their learning about the American Revolution. There will be short vignettes with student actors from each 4th grade classroom. We will also celebrate the students of the month who demonstrated the March Habit of a Learner of Curiosity – I explore new ideas by asking questions and seeking answers about the world around me. Next month, we will focus on the Habit of a Learner, Perseverance and will honor students at the Community Meeting on April 24th.
Our 4th grade students have a Science/Social Studies Unit that focuses on Leadville and our community. As part of that unit, the students have been studying the brave soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division who fought so valiantly in WWII. Last month, the students were able to take a field trip to Camp Hale and The Vail Snow Sports Museum. Next week, to further their studies, the 4th graders will be going to Ski Cooper on Thursday, March 28th. They will leave at 9am and return at 3pm. We would like to extend a huge Thank You to Mary at GOL who managed all of the logistics of this trip. We would also like to say thank you to the folks at Ski Cooper who make this trip more possible with their generous discounts.
