LCIS Outdoor Art Walk and Open House
Thank you to all of the students and families that joined us last Thursday for our Annual Outdoor Art Walk and Open House. The weather was beautiful with lots of autumn sunshine and the artwork was spectacular. We even had hot cocoa!
This unit in our art curriculum is titled “In Collaboration with Nature” and is based on the work of Andy Goldsworthy. “In contrast to other artists who work with the land, most of Goldsworthy’s works are small in scale and temporary in their installation.” (Andy Goldsworthy, Wikipedia)
Ms. Good taught this method of art creation to all of the students at LCIS and then took them into the woods behind LCIS to design their own masterpieces. Their works of art are stunning and their creativity is very brave and admirable, considering that their achievements are temporary!

If you missed this wonderful event, please feel free to go for a walk in the woods and see if you can spot some of the artwork before it is absorbed back into nature!
