LCIS FASO 6-17-22
Hello LCIS Families!
Thank you for sharing your children with us this past year at LCIS.You can often hear our staff commenting on how we have the best kids at our schools. We appreciate all that you do in raising these fantastic children and are so happy to partner with you in educating them.
Students returning to LCSD were able to keep their Chromebooks over the summer. Be sure to encourage your child to hop onto IXL and practice their math skills. Just 20 minutes a day can help them keep their skills sharp and give them the confidence they need to succeed next year.
The LCIS library was still missing 65 books at the end of the year. Perhaps you’ll come across one of these books in your home over the next couple of months. If so, be sure to have your child finish reading it and then set it aside to return it in August.
Speaking of summer reading, the Leadville Library has a fantastic reading program titled, Oceans of Possibilities. Look through your child’s things because they should have brought home a flier or click here to access the Library website and register your child for the program. As students read and track their progress they can earn prizes. The Leadville Library is also offering a variety of events and programs including Summer Lego Nights and Destination Storytime.
Online registration will begin on July 7th. All returning and new students will need to be registered prior to the start of the school year. Families will receive an email with a link to the online registration and will receive a registration packet in the mail. If you need support with registration, all schools will host a registration help night on July 27th from 3-7pm. When registering, families should also sign up for their orientation conferences which will take place on Aug. 8th and 9th. Be sure to mark your calendar for these dates as well as Aug. 16, the first day of school!
Beginning in August, the Lake County School District will be charging students for lunches. Lunch will cost $3.00 each. Breakfast and snacks will continue to be provided free of charge. In your registration packet, you will find a Free and Reduced lunch application. If you anticipate needing financial support, please fill out the form and turn it into the main office beginning July 25 or bring it with you to orientation conferences on Aug. 8th or 9th. It is only necessary to fill out one form per family.
We will be back up and running starting on July 25. You may come to or call the LCIS main office 719 486-6830 anytime between 8 am and 4 pm with any questions you may have.
We hope that you all have a wonderful summer!
