LCIS Friday Afternoon Shout Out 6-9-23
Hello LCIS Families,
Thank you to everyone who joined us at our Celebration of Learning this week! Our students were so excited to share their work and it meant a lot to them that they were able to share with so many different people. We are incredibly grateful for the efforts of our students and staff that went into making this such a special event.
It’s hard to believe that we only have one more week of school! It has been such a fantastic year of learning and fun, and we are excited to host some celebratory events this week in honor of our students. We begin our celebrations this week with the HOWLS Reward Tips.
On Tuesday, June 13th, the 5th and 6th graders will attend the HOWLS Reward Trip and on Wednesday, June 14th the 3rd and 4th graders will have their turn.
This semester, our students will be going to the Silverthorne Recreation Center to swim and then out to the Frisco Marina to participate in water sports, like kayaking, on Dillon Lake. It will be a splash! TWO IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS – PLEASE CLICK THE LINKS BELOW:
Here is the letter that was sent home last week that has all of the trip details. Parents/ Guardians must fill out this online waiver in order for their child to participate in any of the activities on Lake Dillon.
We will celebrate students with 95% or higher attendance for the entire school year with a popsicle party on the last day of school.
Our final school wide celebration will take place at 2pm on the last day of school, June 15 when we will honor our 6th graders who will be promoted to 7th grade and transition to LCHS next fall. Following this special community meeting, classrooms will have the option to host mini classroom celebrations. Look for specific information from your child’s teacher regarding a class celebration. Following the 6th grade assembly, the classroom teachers will host an end of year party for their students. Parents are welcome to attend and celebrate our 2022-2023 school year!
Our Lost and Found is overflowing! Please come in and look for your child’s missing items. We will donate all of these items at the end of the school year.
Students who showed improvement, academic growth, and perseverance on the NWEA assessments celebrated at the first ever LCIS Academic Celebration Carnival on the afternoon of June 5th. We had so much fun!

The Lake County School Board is seeking individuals interested in serving on an advisory committee. The District Accountability Committee (DAC) is a state required committee created by each local school board with the purpose of providing recommendations and advice to the school board on topics set by state statute as well as by the local board. The committee is required to meet at least quarterly as a committee and at least annually with the school board, although the committee can choose to meet more often. We are looking forward to kicking this group off for the 2023-24 school year using a format that includes opportunities for meeting around the state required topics as well as areas of local study toward actionable recommendations and conversations with the Board of Education. We are requesting that interested individuals complete the following application that will be reviewed by the Board of Education.

At the June 26th meeting, we are scheduled for the board to select leadership and membership of the DAC. After this meeting, the selected leadership team will have an initial planning meeting in August to create and roll out the 2023-24 schedule and plan for the DAC. Thank you again for your interest and willingness to serve on this important committee.
Thank you for your interest in serving
