LCIS Friday Afternoon Shout Out 6-16-23
Hello LCIS Families,
What a fantastic end to the school year we’ve had! On Tuesday and Wednesday this week our students enjoyed swimming at the Silverthorne Rec Center and paddling on Lake Dillon at the Frisco Marina for their spring semester HOWL Reward. In typical panther fashion our students displayed respectful behavior while enjoying these activities and many people who interacted with them commented on their wonderful behavior. We’re so proud of our students!
Congratulations to our 6th graders! We have had a wonderful four years with you and we are excited to send you off to LCHS! We will continue to cheer for you and support you as you continue your educational journey.
The Lake County School Board is seeking individuals interested in serving on an advisory committee. The District Accountability Committee (DAC) is a state required committee created by each local school board with the purpose of providing recommendations and advice to the school board on topics set by state statute as well as by the local board. The committee is required to meet at least quarterly as a committee and at least annually with the school board, although the committee can choose to meet more often. We are looking forward to kicking this group off for the 2023-24 school year using a format that includes opportunities for meeting around the state required topics as well as areas of local study toward actionable recommendations and conversations with the Board of Education. We are requesting that interested individuals complete the following application that will be reviewed by the Board of Education.

At the June 26th meeting, we are scheduled for the board to select leadership and membership of the DAC. After this meeting, the selected leadership team will have an initial planning meeting in August to create and roll out the 2023-24 schedule and plan for the DAC. Thank you again for your interest and willingness to serve on this important committee.
Thank you for your interest in serving
ATHLETIC UPDATE:
Happy Summer Break!! Summertime does NOT mean a break from athletic activities!! In fact, we have a lot of opportunities for athletes to stay fit and improve skills in the next 2 months. A couple highlights:
- The LCHS weight room will be open on Mondays and Fridays from 8-9 am and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6 pm. Athletes from all sports and levels are encouraged to find 2 times a week to workout. We also have strength plans that can be done at home, so if the times don’t work out or your family is traveling, athletes can still be developing strength.
- LCHS’ basketball programs are hosting a professionally-run basketball camp July 10-12 in the LCHS gym. There will be sessions for 2-5th graders, 6-8th graders and high school athletes. See the attached flier for more details. The early bird discount ends on June 16, so get registered ASAP!! If you pay through Venmo, you may need the following code: 5957.
The schedules for all athletic events this summer and into the fall are on our new online calendar: https://chsaa.rschooltoday.com/public/genie/1518/school/445/date/2023-06-13/view/week/
