LCIS Friday Afternoon Shout Out 3/1/24
Dear LCIS Families:
The LCIS Community Meeting on Wednesday was a great success! The 5th graders acted out how the printing press was invented and how that invention made books – and therefore reading – accessible to the masses. The students were able to visit the Leadville Herald’s printing press to help make their school learning applicable to the real world. It is so wonderful to be reminded about the incredible amount of resources available to us in the modern age. Thank you to those parents who were able to come and enjoy this presentation. We look forward to the next Community Meeting on March 25th which will be led by our 4th graders.
Dr. Seuss Spirit Week is next week! Mrs. Osborn, our amazing library/tech teacher, has planned a celebration for Theodore Seuss Geisel, or Dr. Seuss, who was born on March 2, 1904. We will celebrate his 120th birthday next week by dressing up in clothing based on his books and characters. There will be fun prizes for all the participants! You can plan your outfits based on the schedule below.
We have planned our next Attendance Celebration for next Thursday, March 7th. Students who have missed 1.5 days or less since January 8th will be invited to the gym to create a necklace or zipper pull. We are excited to celebrate excellent attendance at school!
We are looking forward to our Spring Break March 11-14 followed immediately by Spring Conferences. Please use this link to schedule a meeting time with your child’s teacher for either March 20 or March 21 from noon to 7:30 pm. Students will attend school from 8 am to 11:15 am on conference days. Students will have sack lunches in the classroom and the busses will run their regular routes. Looking forward to seeing you all!
