We Love to “Explore” at LCIS!
Students at LCIS are scheduled to attend an enrichment class every day that we call Explore. These classes include Music, Library/Tech, and Spanish Language classes. Students attend these classes on a one week cycle.
Mrs. Osborn reads aloud to students during part of Library/Tech time. The 4th graders are listening to “The Wild Robot Protects”, which is the 3rd book in the series about Roz the robot. Students also practice their typing skills, check out library books, and use their chromebooks to visit learning sites.
Mr. Corley conducts our 6th graders during band. Students were able to opt in to this class and are able to practice every day. They are working hard for their performance at our Winter Concert on December 5th along with the vocal musical selections for students in grades 3-6.
Ms. Julia and Mrs. Paxman both teach Spanish during their Explore time. These wonderful ladies are creative and enthusiastic while expanding the language abilities of our students. They use songs, games and activities that help students to learn the basics and beyond of the Spanish language. They are both fluent in English and Spanish – we are so lucky to have them in our school.
We appreciate all of these staff members who enhance and supplement classroom learning with unique and exciting lessons! These teachers often see 100 different students in just one day and help them to “explore” even more of the learning possibilities here at LCIS!
