2nd Grade class to visit the Great Sand Dunes in May

Did you know that Mrs. Lovely and her amazing 2^nd graders applied for a National Park Trust “Kids to Parks” experience to travel to Great Sand Dunes National Park? Well, they did. And…THEY WON! This means Mrs. Lovely and her students get to travel to the Great Sand Dunes National Park on May 15^th. It promises to be a fun day filled with sledding in the dunes, learning about geology, and helping take care of the park by cleaning up trash. Way to go Mrs. Lovely’s class!

Thanks to the National Park Trust for hosting this contest, to Get Outdoors Leadville! for supporting our application, and to the National Park Service for waiving park fees for the day. And, of course, thank you to so many people in Lake County School District for supporting learning beyond walls!
