Great News: Educator Contracts & Letters of Assurance Available! 6-30-20

Hello LCSD Educators and Classified Staff,

We are pleased to let you know that the Lake County School District, the Lake County Teachers Association and AFSCME worked together to come to agreements regarding teacher contracts and classified pay for the 2020-21 school year. Teachers will see a salary step and the ability to continue to earn lanes. Teachers will also add three additional paid days to the school year for training and preparation. Classified staff will also see pay raises and their new rate will be indicated on the letter. We are very pleased to say that even in this challenging budget year we are able to bring back all LCSD employees. This was an important priority for the district this year.

Teachers please check your school email for your contract. Please sign your contract electronically or by hard copy and return to Noreen Flores by July 10, 2020.

Classified staff please check your email for your letter of assurance. Please sign your letter of assurance electronically or by hard copy and return to Noreen Flores by July 10, 2020.

We appreciate your patience in waiting for these agreements as negotiations were delayed as we waited for our budget to be finalized by the state legislature. The legislature was delayed due to COVID-19.

On a personal note, I would like to thank each of you for the opportunity to work with you over the past eight years. I have learned so much from all of you and am grateful for the incredible work you do with and for our students. I am especially thankful for the tremendous effort you put in this spring as we implemented remote instruction, delivered meals and kept our buildings safe and healthy. It has been an honor and a privilege to work with you. I look forward to following the future successes of the district.

Thank you!

Wendy
