COVID-19 Update March 19th
Dear LCSD Families and Community,
As many of you already know, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis on Wednesday evening ordered all Colorado schools closed starting Monday and extending through April 17 in a bid to stem the spread of the new coronavirus.
We know that this is uncharted territory for all of us and we are committed to working with everyone to provide the best solutions that we can.
LCSD met with school leaders today to continue developing learning plans for our students in these coming weeks. We recognize that we cannot replace the dynamic experience of an in-person classroom; we will put together thoughtful plans to continue your student’s learning beginning the week of March 30th. High school students will still receive credit for their coursework during this time.
Our first priority is to ensure our students have food during this time. We will begin meal distribution on Monday, March 23 that will run daily Monday through Friday from 12:00-1:00 pm at the following locations:
- We will be delivering at the following sites:
- Entrance of Mtn. View East
- Entrance of Mtn. View West
- Entrance of Lake Fork
- Entrance of Village at East Fork
- Entrance of High School (front doors)
Meals are available free of charge for anyone 18 years of age or younger, regardless of free/reduced status. If you are sick or someone in your household is showing symptoms of COVID-19, please do not go to a drop off site. We are working on a plan for door to door delivery. Watch for more information coming.
We will continue to communicate as things progress. Please look for further communication from your child’s school about the plans for the week of March 30th and beyond.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these uncharted times.
Thank you,
Lake County School District
