All LCSD Schools Closed through 9/15/2024

Dear LCSD Families:

Thank you for your patience as we work to navigate a fast-changing situation in our community and schools this week. After close coordination with Sheriff Speckman and on his advice, we have decided that our schools will remain closed, and all in-county district activities canceled, through Sunday, 9/15/24 to allow law enforcement to continue their investigation. 

We will work with Amy Peters (Athletic/Activities Director) on how we will handle away athletic games over the next few days, and those coaches and athletes will be contacted directly. In addition to district communication, each school will be reaching out to students and/or families in the coming day. 

We continue to work closely with law enforcement on appropriate next steps. The Sheriff’s Office also posts updates as they have them on their website. We encourage you to use the Sheriff’s Office website for updated information as it develops.

We will communicate with you during the weekend, and very much hope to be able to see students back in school on Monday, depending on what the next few days bring and how law enforcement advises us.
