LCHS Welcome Back

by fvillarreal · July 28, 2026

Dear LCHS Families,

As we prepare for the start of the 26-27 school year, I want to welcome you back to Lake County High School. We are excited to begin another year with our students and families and feel hopeful about what is ahead.

Our team has been working hard to prepare for a strong and organized start. We know the beginning of a school year can bring a mix of excitement and questions, especially as students adjust to new schedules, teachers, classrooms, and routines. Orientation is designed to help students feel prepared and give families the information they need before the first day of school. We are committed to creating a school where students feel welcomed, known, supported, and challenged to grow.

Orientation conferences will be held on Wednesday, August 5th. Please review the information below for your student’s grade level.

Grades 6-8

Families should use this link to sign up for a 15-minute conference with their student’s crew teacher.

During the conference, families will receive their student’s schedule, review important policies and procedures, ask questions, take the student’s ID photo, and pay any applicable fees.

Beginning this year, Chromebooks for students in grades 6-8 will be stored in their classrooms and will not be taken home. We will share more information about this process during orientation.

Grades 9-12

Families should use this link to register for a one-hour orientation window. Families with more than one student in grades 9-12 only need to register once.

During orientation, students will follow their schedules to locate their classrooms and meet their teachers. They will also take their ID photo, confirm family contact information, pay any applicable fees, and complete the necessary technology and cell phone pouch checks.

9th grade students will receive their Yondr phone pouch, chromebook, and charger. Students in 10th-12th grade need to bring their current Yondr phone pouch, Chromebook, and charger. If a Yondr pouch and/or chromebook has been lost or damaged, the student will receive a replacement and be charged the replacement fee.

Additionally, 11th grade students will check in with the Internship Coordinator, and 12th grade students will check in with Kerry Charles. Counselors and our Concurrent Enrollment Coordinator will be available for families who need additional support.

Our goal is for every student to leave orientation knowing where to go, what to expect, and feeling ready for the year ahead. Thank you for your continued partnership and trust. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with your students and look forward to welcoming everyone back to LCHS.

See you soon,

Scott Carroll
