Third Grade’s Tenth Mountain Expedition in Pictures
Our third grade finished their in-depth learning expedition about the Tenth Mountain Division in high style with an assembly and a ski day honoring the veterans at Ski Cooper. Four World War II veterans and one descendant attended the assembly at LCHS and were honored with a poem, two songs and an extensive interview about their battle experiences on Riva Ridge in Italy and their training at Camp Hale. The next day, third grade traveled to Ski Cooper for the annual Ski Down celebration that honors the Tenth. Students got to ski (many for the first time) and visit with historians knowledgeable about the legacy of these brave men. Thank you to all of the sponsors, volunteers and partners who made this awesome learning experience possible!
