Update from Lake County Sheriff Regarding Social Media Activity

Please see the following update from the Lake County Sheriff regarding the social media activity referring to Eagle County this morning:

“Good morning Lake County. We are aware of the current situation on social media, claims regarding potential threats against schools in Colorado and Texas. The Lake County School District is NOT among the list being sent around. However, law enforcement will have an increased presence with in the school district. This is certainly an issue to be taken seriously whether claims of a threat can be substantiated or not. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office wants to respect the safety of our children and decisions of parents of whether to send children to school but does not have any reason to believe there is a threat to our community at this time.
