December Updates
Improving Student Outcomes: Did you know that students at LCIS have mastered over 6,200 math and reading skills since the beginning of the year using IXL, our online homework and intervention platform? Winter break is a GREAT time to help your students log on to IXL and get some good academic practice in! Need help logging in? Contact the LCES or LCIS front office.
Strategic Plan: We have identified three major priorities for the district’s strategic plan: Pursuing Educational Excellence, Enhancing Student Experience and Expanding Family & Community Collaboration. Our leadership team is now in the process of developing goals for each priority and a detailed implementation plan that will cover the next 3-5 years. We look forward to sharing more detail and involving staff and partners in these discussions!
School Merge: In the summer of 2026, we will consolidate our school campuses from four to three. I am pleased to announce that we have fabulous leaders in place to lead our schools in this new configuration.
LCES: Brandi Lovely will continue as the Principal of LCES (PK-5th grades), and she will be joined by Cheryl Talbot and Vicki Cook as Assistant Principals. After many years as a Principal, Cheryl has chosen to focus on leading the instructional work at LCES as an Assistant Principal going forward. We’re happy for her and also thrilled that she will still be on the leadership team with Brandi and Vicki!
LCHS: Scott Carroll will continue as the Principal of LCHS (6th-12th grades), and he will be joined by Lindsey Cade and a new hire as Assistant Principals. We will be opening the second Assistant Principal position this month.
Thank you to these tremendous leadership teams! Read our Q&A about school consolidation and submit any questions in English or Spanish.
In closing, I hope that the holiday season brings joy to you and your families. Know that we are grateful to have you as a part of the Panther family.
Cheers!
Kate
