Dear LCHS Families,
Happy New Year and welcome to 2026! It has been great welcoming students and staff back into the building as we settle into the second semester. There has been a calm, positive energy throughout the building as routines restart and classrooms come back to life.
As we move forward, we continue to focus on creating a learning environment that supports student engagement, focus, and connection. Clear, consistent routines are an important part of that work, including our expectations around cell phones during the school day.
For students in grades 9-12, cell phones and other devices are expected to be secured in their Yondr pouch throughout the day. Beginning next week, students will bring their pouch with them as part of their daily routine and will show it to their teacher as an entrance ticket to class. If students do not have their pouch, they will receive a mark towards restriction.
For students in grades 7-8, cell phones and other devices are turned into the designated storage box in their Crew teacher’s classroom each morning, helping students start the day focused and ready to learn.
We appreciate your partnership in supporting these expectations. When school and home are aligned, it helps students build good habits and stay engaged in their learning.

Sports Report
High school girls’ basketball picked up their first win against Englewood at home on Tuesday! Despite the lack of snow, ski season is underway! HS alpine raced at Copper Mountain on Thursday. Helen Fiedler and Wilson Anderson achieved top 10 finishes and state qualifying spots! HS Nordic raced in Breckenridge on Friday. The girls’ team finished in 1st place! In MS Nordic action in Frisco on Thursday, Levi Horning was the individual boys’ champion, and the team took 2nd. MS girls’ basketball was victorious over Eagle County Charter Academy at both the 7th and 8th grade levels.
