If you need to pick your student up prior to 5:15 pm, please text Blanca.
- For afterschool programs, students must be picked up by 6:00 pm.
- For Friday programs, students must be picked up by 3:30 pm.
Friday drop-off
- All-day: 7:45a – 8:00 am
- Afternoon: 11:45a-12:00 pm
Late Pickup: A student who is picked up late more than two times in a calendar month will not be allowed to attend their next scheduled program day. A student who is picked up late more than three times in a calendar month will have their number of weekly program days reduced by one for the remainder of the month. If we are unable to contact a parent or emergency contact within 30 minutes, the Department of Human Services will be called.
Attendance Policy
For grades K-6, Project Dream Site Supervisors will contact a parent/guardian through text or phone call if a child is expected in site-based after school Project Dream programs and does not arrive. In the event of multiple unexcused absences the site supervisor reserves the right to reduce days or suspend registration. If there is a waiting list at that time, they will be placed on the bottom of the waiting list if they wish to rejoin.
For grades 7-12, LCSD Out of School places the responsibility for attendance on the parent and the child. Parents are welcome to call the LCHS Site Supervisor at any time to check on their child’s attendance.
Students who receive an in-school or out-of-school suspension during the school day, or have otherwise gone home for the day due to a health or wellness reason, are not permitted to attend afterschool programs that day.
Registration
Students grades K-6 will be assigned days of site-based after school based on your preferences. Because of program capacity, students are only guaranteed two days in after school programs. Site Supervisors will keep a waitlist for families that are interested in additional days at the school and register students for additional days later in the year as capacity allows.
If you already registered for afterschool or Friday programs during school registration, a letter will be sent home confirming your student’s days prior to our first day on September 2, 2025.
Registration for Project Dream programs for the 2025-2026 school year is still available! If you are interested in registering your student for Project Dream programs please contact the LCIS Site Supervisor.

LCSD Project Dream Behavior Guidelines
The purpose of our programs is to provide a positive, enriching environment for children. As a program of the Lake County School District, Project Dream aligns with the administrative policies of the district and expectations for student behavior as determined by each school. Project Dream seeks to support the behavior expectations of Lake County School District through implementation of a restorative justice approach. However, Project Dream often has less ability to support student behavior and positive participation due to the nature of employing part-time youth development workers. Decisions regarding disciplinary actions and program participation reflect the unique context of Project Dream programs and staffing.
Disciplinary actions are determined by the Site Supervisor in consultation with the Out-of-School Time Director. Possible disciplinary actions include: early pickup, suspension, day reduction, and permanent suspension.
In the case of any physical altercations or incidents, Project Dream will notify parents that they need to arrange for an immediate pickup of their student. Project Dream will follow up after the incident to discuss further consequences.
In most cases, minor disciplinary actions resulting from Project Dream programs do not result in disciplinary consequences during the school day. However, Students who receive an in-school or out-of-school suspension during the school day are not permitted to attend afterschool programs that day. In addition, Project Dream supervisors and administrators will collaborate with school building administrators to determine the appropriateness of continued attendance for Project Dream programs based on student behavior.
In some cases, Project Dream may require a chaperone for a student to attend some programs. Due to limited staffing availability and staff training for Project Dream club leaders, participation in some activities may only be appropriate when a student is chaperoned by a trusted adult. It is the responsibility of the chaperone to assist in behavior management and positive engagement for their student only. Chaperones are asked to collaborate with the Project Dream Site Supervisor to align on behavior management and support strategies.
