Cloud City High School Family Newsletter
This past Wednesday, Cloud City High School participated in our Workforce Boot Camp Day, where students explored career pathways and the endless opportunities available to them right here in our community. The message of the day was simple but powerful: these careers are possible for each and every one of our students. Some pathways require only minimal additional training, while others may take longer-term education and certifications, but all are achievable with the right plan and support.
We want to give a big shout-out and thank you to the following community partners who welcomed our students and helped make this day meaningful:
*Leadville Airport
*City Hall
*City Maintenance
*Leadville Lake County Animal Shelter
*Leadville Fire Department
In addition, a second group of students traveled to The Aveda Institute in Denver to learn more about pathways in cosmetology. It was an exciting experience, and we are proud of our students for stepping outside their comfort zones and exploring new possibilities.
Our community and our students are lucky to have such a wide variety of resources and career options available to them. If your student is interested in doing a one- or two-day job shadow with any of these industries—or would like to pursue an internship opportunity—we are here to support them and help make it happen. Please reach out and we will work with your student to take the next steps.
Attendance Reminder: We are still missing several students on a daily basis and have had difficulty reaching all parents/guardians. If you receive an automated phone call about your student’s absence, please contact us as soon as possible so we can understand what is going on and offer support if needed.
Finally, we know that several illnesses are running rampant right now. Please take extra precautions to stay healthy, and if your student is too sick to attend school, make sure to call the office to let us know.
