Safety Concerns-Schools on Lock Down and Secure 8/11/25

LCHS parents – Students released from lockdown and may be picked up at front office. All students are safe and building will be conducting a controlled release. Parents will need to check students out at the front doors. If students drove themselves, parents may call 719-486-6950 to give permission to drive home. Only immediate family members can be released together. If you are unable to pick up your student, busses will run as normal

12:58-Update: We will provide updates as soon as law enforcement provides them. Please avoid any of our school buildings at this time to allow law enforcement to operate.

12:50 PM LCHS is currently in Lockdown due to an incident that happened in the community within the past hour involving LCHS students. Law enforcement is responding and is also on site at LCHS.

LCES, LCIS and CCHS are currently on Secure, meaning nobody in or out, until law enforcement advises otherwise. We will provide more information as we have it.

If you are not at school, please don’t return to any school building at this time. Nobody will be allowed in or out of any of our buildings at this time. We will update you as soon as we are able.

1:10pm Update:  LCHS is currently lifting lockdown and will remain in secure until this process is completed. Secure has been lifted for LCES, LCIS and CCHS.  More info coming from LCHS regarding students soon.
