LCSD and LCSO Launch School Resource Officer Program
We are pleased to announce that Deputy Joe Kolarik will be serving the Lake County School District
as our new School Resource Officer (SRO). He will be working closely with students, staff,
and families to help ensure a safe and supportive learning environment across all our schools.
Deputy Kolarik is a member of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and has received formal training
as an SRO. He brings a wealth of experience in community policing and youth engagement, and
shares our commitment to fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and schools.
Deputy Kolarik also serves as the Head Coach for our girls’ high school varsity basketball team.
In this role, Deputy Kolarik will:
- Support school/district safety and emergency preparedness efforts
- Serve as a resource for students and families
- Partner with staff on prevention and education initiatives
Deputy Kolarik will begin visiting schools next week and will be a part-time presence in our
schools for now as he transition to a full time position—please join us in welcoming him to our district
community!
