LCSD & LCSO Update 11.14.25
Dear LCSD Families & Staff:
Now that things have started to return to normal in our schools and our community, we wanted to circle back as we prepare for students to return on Monday. At this time, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office has no evidence that there is an active, ongoing threat to our schools. While the investigation is still underway, law enforcement has no reason to believe that students and staff are not safe at school. Law enforcement is frequently present in and around our schools, and next week will be no exception.
In order to make sure you are receiving the most up to date information from LCSD, please be sure your contact information (including your email address and cell phone number) is up to date in PowerSchool. Front office staff can assist with this. We also recommend following both LCSD and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook if you use this platform.
While we respect each parent’s decision, we very much hope to see students back at school on Monday. We have learning to catch up on before the Thanksgiving break! This is a great week to reground ourselves in the power and strength in our community. We hope you might join us for one of our Thanksgiving lunches this week, scheduled as follows:
- Tuesday – LCIS
- Wednesday – LCHS
- Thursday – LCES & CCHS
Please see individual school shout outs for schedule details.
As community leaders, we are deeply aware of the impact of threats on our schools and our town. We are working closely together to improve both how we can prevent these incidents, and how we respond. As ever, we welcome your feedback, and hope to invite you into the conversation.
Have a good weekend, and we’ll see you back at school!
Kate Bartlett, LCSD Superintendent
Heath Speckman, Lake County Sheriff
