Girls’ XC Team Takes 2nd at State!

For the 6th year in a row, the Lady Panther XC team brought home a state trophy! Today they took 2nd place to Ridgway High School.
Leading the Panther squad, freshman Hattie Mallozzi and junior Chloe King turned in the fastest times ever run by a Lake County lady on the state course. Mallozzi placed 12th in 20:02, and King finished 13th in 20:09. Senior Aimee Lenhard ran 35 seconds faster this year than last year but finished once again in 20th place. This year, her time was 20:24. Junior Lyza Zoller was 47th in 21:55, and sophomore Finnley Stanek took 54th in 22:04. Senior Karen Saucedo was the fastest 6th place runner in the field, placing 63rd in 22:19.
In 2020, Lake County took 2nd to Buena Vista. They were the team champions in 2021 and 2022. Then they finished as runner up to Heritage Christian in 2023 and 2024. Bringing home 6 straight trophies while other teams come and go demonstrates the depth and consistency of Lake County’s program.
