Great Results From Last Weekend’s Sporting Events!
The Panther teams looked really strong in last weekend’s events!
Volleyball beat Englewood HS in their first competition against this new Frontier League opponent. The JV team won in 3 sets. The varsity girls also won in 3 sets, never allowing Englewood to score more than 6 points. The Panthers are currently ranked 12th in the 2A state rankings!
On Friday, the boys soccer team faced off against Dolores Huerta Prep. The Panthers scored 13 goals in the first half! Because of the mercy rule, the teams didn’t play the second half. Fernando Chavez scored 5 goals; Ruben Reyos and Jason Ayers scored 2 goals each; and Victor Anguiano, Jesus Chavez, Adrian Medina and Axel Velasquez each scored a goal on their way to victory.
The cross country teams hosted 13 high schools and 10 middle schools for their invitational at CMC. Jace Peters won the boys’ varsity race, and the Lady Panthers won the girls’ varsity team competition with all 4 scorers finishing in the top 10. The middle school girls’ team placed 2nd and had 7 girls in the top 25.
