Gifted News in LCSD
Do you have a student who has been identified as gifted/talented in Lake County Schools? Is your child in the Talent Pool or on the “Watch” List? If so, please come to a parent get-together in January. Meet Wendy Scott, the new Gifted/Talented Coordinator for the School District, and find out what is being done this year for our gifted students. This meeting will also serve as an organizational meeting for anyone interested in being a part of the parent board for gifted students in our school district. We will discuss things like Destination Imagination, possible field trips, and programs occurring right now in our schools. You can also sign up to meet with Wendy individually, to review your child’s ALP (Advanced Learner Plan), or where they are in the identification process.
While the meeting is for currently identified students, feel free contact Wendy Scott, if you feel you child should be referred to the Gifted Talented Program. Please email Wendy at wscott@lakecountyschools.net
