Annie performances are Feb. 22-25 at LCHS
Lake County High School’s Performing Arts Department is happy to announce their production of the Classic Broadway Annie under the support of Community Banks of Colorado (Formerly Peoples Bank) as the Title Sponsor. Under the Direction of Artistic Director Scott Carroll, performances will take February 22-25 in the beautiful Lake County High School Performing Arts Center.
Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including “Tomorrow.”
With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations… and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
Bailey Sprague and Jude Hill (Annie), Alex Guzman (Warbucks), and Moriah Perkins (Grace) will head the wonderfully talented company. The rest of the principal cast includes Annemarie Duel, Emma Azeltine, Edgar Tarango, and Stephanie Reveles.
The singing and dancing orphans range from kindergarten to seventh grade and they include: Makayla Arellano, Jessy Blamey, Alison Bujanda, June, Dallas, Helen Eddy, Cleo Finken, Mae Finken, Ruby Harkness, Violet Hill, Ryden Hofer, Chloe King, Keira King, Clara Kirr, Tilly Kirr, Annie McFee, Lizeth Ordoňez, Sami Smeltzer, Finnley Stanek, and Jaycee Windorski.
The ensemble includes Molly Coleman, Finbar Cremin, Tayler Galloway, Zamira Olave, Alex Perkins, Stephanie Reveles, Maddison Riquetti, and Sami Smeltzer. The team is also excited to welcome some Lake County High School Staff Members and adult community members. Those people include Kathleen Fitzsimmons, Cody Jump, Jeff Sailor, Jeff Spencer, Luke Finken, and Greg Labbe.
Scott Carroll who will serve as the Stage Director, heads the production and design team. Celesta Cairns will serve as the Musical Director. Mackenzie Reigel will serve as the Assistant Stage Director and Ella Sunday will serve as the Production Stage Manager. Tyra Chavez will serve as an Assistant Stage Manager Devin Riggs and Lisa Berman will serve as Co-Choreographers. Melissa Hill will serve as the Volunteer Coordinator. Donna Schaefer will serve as the Associate Musical Director. The design team includes Todd Howe, Colin McFee, and Jill Smith. Our dedicated running crew will be announced at our performances. We will also welcome back the incredible musicians who make up the Lake County High School Performing Arts Orchestra.
