Board notes for November

The Board of Education celebrated the passing of the bond to build a new Pre-K school at the November meeting. We certified the bond with joy and excitement. Thank you to our community and to all of our campaign volunteers. This is an exciting moment for Lake County School District as we begin to write the next chapter.

We also welcomed a new board member, Rod Weston, who brings uncommon experience to the school board. He was a superintendent of schools in Vermont and in New Mexico and is a passionate advocate for the children of Lake County. Welcome Rod!

And we said good-bye to outgoing board member Stephanie McBride. During her four years in office, Stephanie was an accomplished and thoughtful member of the board. She crafted the board’s teaching and learning policy, aided the board with her expertise in housing and property valuation, and exemplified the best of what a board member can be. Thank you, Stephanie!
