LCSD Update 3/31/20
Lake County School District is grateful for the support and flexibility that all of our families are showing as we get distance learning off the ground. Our staff is doing an amazing job of ensuring meals are delivered to youth across the county and that our students have access to learning at home. We would like to share a few updates in addition to the information you may be getting from your child’s school.
Student Belongings
Based on the current executive order that Coloradans stay at home due to the presence of COVID-19 in the state we have determined that for now we will hold students’ belongings at their schools until there is a better time for a safe pick up. If you or your student have an essential item that you need to pick up for a learning or health reason please call the front office and leave a message and we will get back in touch with you.
Our music department has determined that our 3rd through 12th grade students will not need their musical instruments for their distance learning plans.
Cancellations
At this point, schools are closed through April 17th. It is likely that schools could be closed through the end of the year, but a decision has yet to be made at the state level.
We have cancelled these events and will continue to keep you updated on other important events.
- The Art Show-Districtwide in May
- Coffee Talks at the Center in April
Play Yards
To help with prevention of the spread of the virus, play yards at our schools will be closed until further notice. We thank you for your cooperation in honoring this closure for the time being.
Superintendent search
The Board of Education is hosting a Town Hall meeting via Zoom Wednesday, April 1st from 5:30-7:30 pm. A link to the flier is here and a link to the zoom meeting information is here.
We will continue to keep you updated as things change and we have more to share with you all.
Thank you for all of your support of our efforts to keep our community healthy!
