LCHS follow up on fight 3/29/23
Dear Parents, Staff and Community,
This afternoon we had a fight between a small handful of students at the high school. The fight was not easily resolved and required calling law enforcement. Law enforcement response was immediate. One student who was involved in the incident left the building, therefore we believed it was in the best interest of safety to put all schools on Secure. The student returned to the building and law enforcement continued to control and resolve the situation. Once the situation had been fully resolved we lifted the Secure at all campuses.
In light of incidences both locally and nationally, we are taking all events seriously. We are requesting additional law enforcement presence on our campuses for the remainder of the week. Schools will be in Secure tomorrow with a monitored entry or release.
We appreciate your willingness to work with the schools in order to keep all students and staff safe.
The district will continue to work with our BERT Teams (Building Emergency Response Team) in response to incidents that impact our students and staff.
