Welcome from Superintendent Bartlett
Dear LCSD Parents and Families:
Happy summer! My name is Kate Bartlett and I am the new Superintendent of the Lake County School District. I hope this finds you enjoying the start of a beautiful season in the mountains.
For those of you who I do not know, this will be my second time working for the district. I served as the Head Start Director and the Chief Financial Officer from 2010-2019. For the past five years, I have held state-level roles in education. Those roles gave me an incredible perspective as I got to collaborate with and support school districts all over Colorado. That said, when the opportunity arose to return to LCSD, I knew it was time to come home.
As a new Superintendent, I will be listening and learning a ton this summer and this fall. One of the things I will be focused on is engaging with and listening to you and to our community, and asking questions like: What is working? What should we be focused on improving? We will be busy all summer here in the District Office. One of the things we are working on is hiring an amazing staff to serve our kids next year. Here are two related updates:
- Locals Job Fair! If you or someone you know is interested in working for LCSD, come by our Locals Job Fair on Monday, June 24th from 4:30-6pm at the District Office, 328 West 5th St. We have several positions open that don’t require a teaching license, and we can also tell you about ways you can earn your license! All of our positions have a great schedule that aligns with the school calendar, and offer excellent benefits.
- Housing for LCSD staff. Housing continues to be a challenge for our staff. If you have a rental property available, school district employees make great tenants! Please share any information about your rental with Kathleen Fitzsimmons by calling 719-486-6800 or emailing kfitzsimmons@lakecountyschools.net .
