News From LCHS 8/7/26

by fvillarreal · August 7, 2026

Dear LCHS Families,

It was a pleasure to welcome both students and families back into the building on Wednesday! There was great energy throughout LCHS, and it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and welcome new members of our Panther community.

Our staff has been busy at work this week preparing classrooms, collaborating with one another, and getting ready to welcome students for our first day next week. We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to creating a strong start for every student.

A few things to get us started:

  • 6-8 Specific: We know that joining a new building and school can be exciting and also bring a sense of nervousness. Our goal during these first few days is to help every student feel comfortable, connected, and confident as they learn new routines, meet their teachers, and get to know their classmates. Our staff will be spending intentional time helping students understand how LCHS works, where to go, who to ask for help, and what they can expect throughout the school day. We know these transitions take time, and we are committed to making the start of the year a positive one for each of our 6-8 students.
  • 9-12 Specific: All 9-12 students should attend at 8:00AM on Monday. We will be having an opening assembly. 11th and 12th grade will learn that day about their in-person and asynchronous post-secondary days. For your information, here is the weekly schedule.
  • All Students: We will begin with a whole school assembly this coming Monday! Students will go directly to the auditorium prior to going to their classes. Our staff will be supporting students to make sure they know where to go.
  • All Students: If you were not able to pick-up your schedule at orientation conferences they will be available for 6-10 students in their crew classrooms following the assembly. 11th and 12th grade will pick them up after the assembly in the auditorium. Crew rosters will be posted in the building so students know where to go!
  • All Students: Here is the link to our Handbook, Behavior Matrix, Phone Policy, and our Grading Policy. These are important documents to review so you know our systems and structures.
  • SAVE THE DATE: One of our goals this year is to host more family engagement events. We want our families to feel a part of our school community. We will be hosting a Back To School Night on Wednesday, August 19th from 5:45 – 7:15. We will all start in the auditorium for a welcome and you will learn about our priorities for the year. Then you will follow your students schedule and have the opportunity to hear directly from teachers on what your students will be doing in their classes. We hope you can join us!

As we begin the 2026-2027 school year, our focus remains on providing students with a safe, welcoming environment where they feel known, supported, challenged, and connected. We know a successful year takes all of us working together. We are grateful for the partnership of our students, families, staff, and community.

We’re glad you’re a part of LCHS,

Sports Report

Welcome to a new school year! We’re excited for a great year of athletics and activities!

If you weren’t able to attend the parent/athlete meeting on Wednesday, here is the handout in English and Spanish.

We have a new sports website called Bound! https://www.gobound.com/co/schools/lakecountyhs

This is the place to find schedules, ticketing and news about your teams. On the homepage, select the team you are looking for from the list on the left. Hint: you might have to scroll down to find what you’re looking for. When you click on a program, you will automatically be taken to the varsity level of that program. Click on the word Varsity at the top of the page and select the level you are looking for from the dropdown menu. Then click on Schedule to see and print the season’s schedule. You can also click the green Notifications button to select what notifications you would like to receive for your team. Click on the Panther head anytime to go back to the LCHS home page. Along the top of the home page, you can select Calendar to get a weekly or monthly view of everything going on at LCHS. There is a filter icon which allows you to select only the activities you are interested in on the calendar. Also at the top of the home page is a link for “Tickets.” Here you can purchase advance tickets for our home games. You will also be able to pay with credit card as you enter events.

Bound also has an app. You can find some informational videos on how to work it here.
