Superintendent Search Town Hall Friday, Feb. 28th
Staff, parents and community,
Earlier this month, we shared that we had invited superintendent finalists to come to our district for in-person interviews and a town hall meeting open to the public and moderated by Marcia Martinek on February 28. We have since learned that one of the finalists has been hired to serve as the superintendent in Telluride. However, we are still excited to continue the process and welcome Mr. Aron Jones to our district this week and the town hall event on Friday.
Mr. Jones is currently the principal of Parkview Elementary School in Lamar, Colorado. He taught third and fifth grades for a decade before becoming a principal in 2011. He has served as a teacher mentor and coached students’ academic and athletic teams, including Brain Bowl, spelling bee, high school golf, girls’ basketball, and boys’ and girls’ track. Mr. Jones grew up in Pueblo, Colorado, and is a champion of public, rural education.
During the Town Hall, you will have the opportunity to ask questions of and provide feedback on Mr. Jones. Choosing the next superintendent for the LCSD is a critical decision. We want to hear from you.
Sincerely,
Eudelia Contreras
President, Lake County School District Board of Education
